Going Green

Our campain is to become the 'greenest' Housing Association in the country.

We aim to reduce the impact our organisation has on the environment and help residents to cut their energy use and reduce their bills.

Visit the Environmental area of the Links section for more information about what you can do to be greener.

In April 2008 the Accord Group became one of the first Housing Associations in the country to obtain the ISO14001 Environmental Management Standard.

In September 2009 we became the first housing association to achieve the much more demanding European Eco Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) standard.

Redditch Co-operative Homes are building new low carbon homes and working hard to make our existing properties more energy efficient. All of our offices and departments have an Environmental Action Plan.

In November 2009 the Accord Group won the Chartered Institute of Housing Good Practice Award (West Midlands) for 'Its unique approach to sustainability".

We have also been commended in 3 categories of the Inside Housing Sustainability Awards. Accord Group Regeneration Director Alan Yates was the 2008 Green Social Housing Champion of the Year.

Our EMAS Statement sets out exactly what we are doing to minimise our impact on the environment. You can download a copy below.
